Below you will find instructions on how to register for your IGCSE/International GCSE and school exams if you are a private candidate.
Register for your exam
You can register online. The registrations close on 11 August 2022.

You will need
- An ID/Passport sized photograph
- A copy of a Senegalese ID Card or a valid Passport; a birth certificate for applicants under the age of 16. Please note that a signed consent form is required for all minors (<18 years old). The form can be downloaded from our download documents below.

Pay for your exam
You will find the fees for all exams listed on the registration system. Your application will not be processed until you have paid for your exams in full.
Similarly, you will not be allowed to attend an exam if you have paid but have not completed the application and submitted this along with all required documents to the British Council for confirmation of your registration.
There are two ways you can pay;
Pay Online
We accept Visa and Mastercard credit and Debit cards only for payment. You will be directed to a secure payment page.
Payment in full must be received by the registration deadline of 15 February 2022. If you have submitted your online application and full payment and haven’t received a confirmation message after two working days, please contact us at informationsenegal@britishcouncil.sn or +221 338692700 / 338692704.
Late registration - penalty fees
There is a normal registration period for each exam session. please submit your final registrations ahead of the deadline. British Council will apply late penalty charges for short notice changes required once a deadline is reached.
You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can find more information about late registration penalty fees from your British Council office.
Your registration is now complete
You have successfully registered for your exam with the British Council. You will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.
